Evangelia

Also known as Lia- is a passionate and experienced artistic performer born and raised in Belleville and Prince Edward County.

Beginning her exploration in dancing in both Greek and Highland dance classes at the age of 6, Lia learned the importance of culture and community. She performed with the Greek Olympian Dancers Troupe at multiple ethnic celebrations, including the Belleville Waterfront Festival. Lia continued her dance journey securing Modern, Jazz and Acro dance examinations from the British Association of Teachers of Dancing, wherein she learned classical techniques. Clogging, belly dancing and musical theater have also been important additions to Lia’s learning and growth.
Always finding outlets for creativity, Lia became an instructor and performer for Baxter Arts Centre in Bloomfield for intergenerational programming, Toddler Dance Party, summer camps, events and more. She also occasionally performs with Shatterbox Theatre and other local theatre companies.

Now with NorthFIRE Circus, Lia has been able to take her learning to new heights with flow arts, aerial arts and performing with fire. You may see her at the Picton Fair and other local events spinning her fire props. Evangelia brings a unique and progressive approach to teaching while being attuned to the importance of emotional literacy and holistic health.
